Dream up any scenario where only conventional weapons have been used to destroy Iran’s nuclear sites and much of Iran’s known military resources have been damaged or destroyed. As Iran has stated is their policy, no matter who attacks, be it Israel and the United States, whether together or separately, they will treat the attack as having come from both and will strike back at both. Facts are, even if UFO’s attacked Iran, they would still attack the United States and Israel. The question is, after the initial attack on Iran and Iran’s retaliation, then what?
The going threat from Iran is that the entire Middle East would explode. They are more than likely correct, but what does that mean exactly? The obvious parts are that Syria, Hamas, and Hezballah, along with much of the Lebanese army, would attack Israel. Next, Iran would launch numerous missiles at most of Israel and American bases and troops in Afghanistan, Iraq, around the Gulf States and the 5th fleet. Hezballah would unleash many of their terror cells throughout Europe and in the United States. All of these scenarios have been discussed ad infinitum. What may happen beyond this has received little attention and is mostly unknown but probably predictable.
The first major threat would be to the American troops in Iraq and most likely Afghanistan. In both countries, much of the work and progress that has been made would be erased as the people would turn against our troops. Much of this violence against our troops would occur with or without the government assisting. Our troops garrisoned throughout the Gulf States would also come under attack. There is better than even chance that Egypt would join in attacking Israel. The American supply routes through Kuwait and Turkey would come to a halt as well. We would probably also see some attacks against NATO and UN troops in the Balkans. The possibility of chemical and biological weapons being used by Iran would be very high, as they would react as if they may as well use everything while they could. And then there are Pakistan and Turkey.
In Pakistan, President Musharraf would be removed from office either by the Pakistani Parliament or by the mobs demanding Pakistan stand with their Muslim brothers. If the entire government of Pakistan ends up overthrown, there stands a very good possibility that the Pakistani nuclear arsenal would be used against Israel and possibly against American forces. Should the use of Pakistan’s nukes become a probability, the United States would need to divert troops to prevent this from occurring. Turkey would be one of the wild cards as it is supposedly a secular state. This truth would be challenged with the outcome being much in doubt. At the very least, Turkey would be brought into a civil war between the secular and much of their military and those demanding an Islamic State which would join the war against Israel, the United States, and any allies choosing to assist.
The last chapter in this disaster scenario would come if the war lasted beyond two or three weeks. The problem at this point would be the dire state of need for resupply by the Israeli forces. Facing annihilation of their military and genocidal attacks on her population, Israel might very well be forced to use the Samson Option. The Samson Option might also be used should biological or chemical attacks be made against Israel. Either of these eventualities might bring Israel’s nuclear weapons into play. This would be a devastating turn of events. In order to avoid such a catastrophe, the probably already strained logistics of the United States might very well be extended to include resupply for the Israelis. The only bright side to this eventuality should it be determined necessary to take out the Iranian nuclear facilities is that the ensuing conflict would be of a short duration. Well, that would also depend on one last possible turn for the absolute worst, Russia and/or China joining with the world of Islam against the West. Should this become reality, then all bets are off and prayers up for the human race.
